I've been eating GF for 20 months now but have just started trying to go vegetarian. I'm doing very well at home but find it hard to find many options when eating out. Do you eat only salads and side dish vegetables? Are there specific restaurants that you frequent because they know your needs? I love the many recipes I'm finding for dishes with grains, beans, and vegetables but those are nearly impossible to find anywhere outside my own home.

I'm going vegetarian at the advice of my doctor who did a biopsy on a lump in my breast. I have a precancerous area. She said I should go vegan and eat only organic too.

Thanks!

I too have been struggling with eating out GF and vegetarian. Started the vegetarian eating a year ago, and haven't had alot of success finding places to eat out, but then again there aren't alot of GF friendly restaurants here either! Salads are the standby (which get old fast unless you find some really fantastic ones), and I always try to bring something with me to supply protein (Ruth's hemp bars, Larabars, etc). Soups can be wonderful, especially lentil and other protein and fiber rich ones. Had a great meal of polenta with roasted red peppers and marinara sauce the other day! Just try to be creative and think a little bit outside the box. I know a baked potato (preferably sweet) with the skins is very filling and satisfying along with other veggies. Good luck!
