caramel sauce

I know this is one of the hardest things to find gluten free but I thought I would see if anyone else out there had some luck. I have a book of gluten free brands and the food they have but could not find caramel anywhere in the book, any suggestions? Thanks!

Ok, I think I may have answered my own question. I was searching around on another sight and saw this response to the questoins about Smuckers Ice Cream toppings

"I called them in January -- this is what the customer rep told me:

Spoonable topping-- Milky Way has barley; all others are gluten-free.

Magic Shell -- Twix has wheat; all others are gluten-free.

Microwave toppings (in plastic bottle) -- gluten-free

Sundae Syrups -- 3 Muskateers has barley; all others (Butterscotch, Caramel, Chocolate and Strawberry) are gluten-free"

So I think they are safe, but if anyone knows otherwise let me know.

Hi Kemp,

Geez, January is kind of a long time. You might call Smuckers and ask. I seem to remember them changing how they handled their GF status. I just don't remember...
