I just discovered this and felt it must be brought to everyone's attention:

MALT-O-MEALS CORN BURSTS ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE ANYMORE! AVOID THEM!

I was extremely upset last night when I found that. My Wal-Mart has quit carrying them and I can't find them anywhere else, so I got their site to see how/where else I might get them. The thought crossed my mind to re-check the label before I went any further so I did, and if you read that, it now contains wheat. It says in bold print below the ingredients list that it contains wheat ingredients; and if you read the ingredients list, you'll find a new little bit at the end of the list, which it says is wheat starch.

Why did they have to go and ruin one of our few easily-found breakfast foods??? Mad

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the update. It goes to show - you always have to check the labels!! I know I need to be better at it myself.

My guess is they did it for the same reason Kelloggs did it to Corn Pops....to CYA. Even though by ingredient list - they were GF - Kelloggs was getting a lot of compliants from celiacs due to cross contamination. So, they decided to add wheat to it to stop all the compliants once in for all.

Again - this is only my speculation.

Yup - it's a dirty trick to play.
