Snape and Potter have sex. Everybody else dies. The end.
Is she joking? You don't know!
On a serious note, for all those still reading the book:
1. Beware once you get to chapter 27. This is the point of no return. Either finish the book in one sitting, or put it down until you have time to do so. The last 150ish pages are like a runaway train.
2. IMHO, this will be the first (and last) Harry Potter movie to get an R rating. I simply can't see how they can remove enough stuff to give it the typical PG-13. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

OK, so I'm seriously starting to geek out over the upcoming The Golden Compass movie. It's actually book 1 of the His Dark Materials trilogy. Go get your own dæmon (spoiler warning! read at your own risk!) here, and then go read! Go! Shoo! _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

My daughter read the Golden Compass. She really liked that one. The Spyderwicke (Sp?) move that is coming out looks good, too. We haven't read that one yet. My son is obsessed with Captain Underpants. Why can't they make a move of that one???
I am reading the Memory Keeper's Daughter and listening to Wolves of the Calla by Stephen King on my commute. 2 books that couldn't be more different, so it's a bit of a mind stretcher to do both at once. _________________ -Colleen

Hrm...
Have you ever read the collected thrillers of Louisa May Alcott? some of those are sincerely awesome!
A Long Fatal Love Chase (also Louisa May Alcott) and The Inheritance (L.M.A. also)
I was really suprised by the three, not what I thought from someone who wrote Little Women, but then again... wow! _________________

| My daughter read all the Alcott books this summer. She, too, was surprised at Long Fatal Love Chase because it was so different from the other Alcott books. |

| Last night I finished John Irving's A Prayer for Owen Meany. I enjoyed the book. I took my time reading it because I really liked the characters. In fact, from the very beginning of the story you are told Owen Meany will die, and I read slowly because I really liked Owen's character and didn't want to read about his death. But it wasn't a sad, depressing book. I found it uplifting and humorous at times. I really recommend this one! |

Robert Jordan died yesterday. I'd like to thank him for introducing me to the true world of epic fantasy novels, no matter what anybody else says about his writing style. (I stopped reading WoT after the fifth book.)
RIP Mr. Jordan. And thanks again.

*twitch* Don't tell me I haven't posted in this topic yet! Well, I (being a teen) don't know if you'd like the same books I do, but here's a quick sketch of my favs.
Artemis Fowl - Eoin Colfer
Maximum Ride - James Patterson
Gaurdians of Ga'Hoole - The author slipps my mind
Inkheart - Something that starts with a C
Dragons in our Midst - Bryan Davis (don't know if you'd like this one for religious reasons.)
Monster - Frank Peretti. Sorry, but he trumps Steven King
The Warriors series - Erin Hunter
*runs to look at bookshelf
Once Upon a Marigold - can't remember
The cat of Bubastes - G.A. Henty
Well, for now I can't think of anymore that adults would want to read... Even some of these would be a little... childish? I personally think that the best fantasy is more childish than the "super sophisticated" stuff. I mean, Its MAGIC people. Its Fanasy. You can't explain it. _________________ Now faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see. -Hebrews 11:1

I just read Maximum Ride a few weeks ago because I read the other Patterson books w/ the "winged kids" and loved them!
I've read Peretti, too. Some of his stuff is pretty good, some I didn't like, but that goes for any author I've ever read.
I really like the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz, too.
I'm not a King fan by any means, but I LOVED The Green Mile. |

I love Maximum Ride. Wonderful series and well written. If you like maximum ride, I suggest Artemis Fowl. It's almost more hilarious than MR. _________________ Now faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see. -Hebrews 11:1
