More Chebe love...I've started using the bread mix to make tortillas. Well, they are more like flatbread but MAN am I happy. Forget rice, corn or hemp tortillas. These are the best flat bread/tortilla substitute there is. Eggs and salsa, pb & j, hot roast beef or pastrami, hummus...the list is endless.
I get about 7 out of one mix. Roll out really thin, cook in a ungreased pan for a minute, flip, cook another minute and there you are, instant heaven! They freeze well too. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

And a correction to my pizza crust post - I add about 2-3 teaspoons of extra liquid. I was in a Chebe-induced euphoria when I wrote that. Razz

I finally got around to trying Chebe, and man am I in Heaven. I should have made it last Sunday when I bought it. I can't believe how versatile the all-purpose mix is. It makes me feel like I can have bread-products again.
I made the biscuits with half of the mix, and I have the other half baking right now as kind of longer rolls I guess.
I ate one of the biscuits plain, and I'm eating my third one right now with ham & egg salad as a topping. I'm tempted to eat the whole package, but I need to restrain myself as I think that may make me ill.

After reading this whole thread I'm dying to try this. But I haven't seen any near me. I guess I will have to order some. I contemplated ordering a couple of months ago and then forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me!

Perhaps it's all being funneled in TEC's direction...

Maybe that's why it was out when I went to get more yesterday and wound up getting a raincheck. Can you please send some back in my direction TEC? Wink

For a while there I was eating Chebe 'za with embarrassing frequency. When I made it today, I used the remainder of a pckg that's been taking up space in my pantry for months! I tried to recall the last time I had a 'za but couldn't...probably the beginning of the summer.

I only use Chebe for 'za crust as I don't care for the rolls.

I buy the mixes by the case via the Chebe website.

Could you get it cheaper at Amazon?

I assume you can, but can you make crackers with the all-purpose mix? It seems like it would be really easy, and I haven't had a cracker since changing my diet because all the ones I find have nuts in them or they're ridiculously expensive.

I use the All-Purpose Mix AKA yellow package for my 'za. What do you all use?

I use the yellow/regular for flatbread/tortillas for pb&j's and non-savory foods; I use the garlic/onion for flatbread for meat or egg rollups. I order 2 cases of each every few months. I make up a batch of each every week or 2, and store them in the freezer.

I use the 'za mix for pizza, though rarely since I can't really have any of the cheese subs. I have tried some soy cheese lately, but it's so gross, and I don't want to eat much soy.

Right now Amazon has pizza mix at a lower price than the manufacturer, and it qualifies for Super Saver shipping. They also have the cinnamon bread mix (that's awesome too), and the focaccia (which I haven't tried). They do not currently have regular or garlic/onion available.

What I'm about to say comes pretty close to pizza heresy, so if you guys kick me to the curb I'll understand. Have you ever tried pizza without the cheese? It's really pretty good. I do sauce or pesto, chicken, pepperoni, etc. and then smother the top with sauteed veggies.

By the way, I use the pizza mix (green bag).

I'm curious if it comes out wettish or sticky the way so many bread mixes do? I just can't do that texture.
