I'm confused about citric acid and carmel color. Are these ok?
I'm trying to figure out where I'm going wrong!
Also, there was a discussion I read about Somirnof's of all flavors, Bacardi Razz, Mike's Hard Lemonades, and other beverages along these lines. I never did see a definite answer. Are these oik? |

Malt beverages (Mike's Hard Lemonade, etc) are not gluten free due to malt. I'm not familiar with Bacardi Razz. Is it flavored rum or a prepared drink? If it's the latter it's probably a malt beverage and would not be GF. Note that I said probably, because I could very well be wrong.
Most of the time in the US caramel coloring is safe. As for citric acid it too should be safe. I would suggest you call the manufacturer for any products in which you question the GF status. |

Ahhhh! I had 3 Mike's Hard Lemonades recently (over about 5 hours time) and I was so sick the next morning even though I didn't feel like I had too much to drink!! THAT explains it!!
The Bacardi Razz is a flavoured drink in a bottle like Smirnoff and Mike's Hard Lemonade.
Thanks for your input! |

| I thought you were talking about Smirnoff Vodka. The Smirnoff bottled drinks are also malt beverages. |

I was talking about all of them.. Bacardi Razz, Smirnoff, Mike's Hard Lemonade... any other fruity bottled drinks like these.
So, Smirnoff and Mike's Hard Lemonades are not GF... or just Smirnoff's? |

| I don't know of any fruity, bottled drinks that are gluten free. All of those that I have seen are malt based beverages. |

DARN! I'm not a big drinker, but I thought that was maybe 1 thing I could buy in a bottle if we were out somewhere.
Well, I guess I probably found a big part of the puzzle for me lately!!
Thanks! |
