I think im going crazy the more I read the more I think I have this , I think the most craziest part is not having the test resluts yet uhhh! I keep thinking is this the problem ? I sure have all the symptoms and if I do i keep poisning my body everyday waiting I want to try the gf way just to see if it helps .but my Dr i guess after reading alot on here was backwards I had the biopsys done last tues without ever having any bloodwork so i cant just go gf now. Im also curiose if he took enough biopsys? I am so afraid hes going to call and say its all good i know my body and it isnt right i know something is wrong. I shouldnt feel sick EVERYTIME i eat . I am always tired allways have no energy at all .
What did everyone else do while waiting for results? I am loosing it and have obsessed with reading on this board . |

Don't worry about the order of the tests. I had the biopsy before I had the bloodwork. There was still no question that it was positive. No big deal, but you do still need to be eating gluten for the bloodwork, though. The blodwork should not even require a dr. visit. Can you call your MD and just have hm call in an order for the bloodwork? If you bug him enough, I bet he will do it. When is your next scheduled appointment?
As Tom Petty says, "the waiting is the hardest part." Just try not to think about it (yeah, right). When I am impatient for something, I go on a cleaning binge or start a new book.
I hope you get some answers soon. _________________ -Colleen

Well, if it makes you feel any better, you have the hard part out of the way now. Most people dread the biopsy more than the bloodwork.
When I left the GI doctor after my last endoscopy, he gave me a paper printout with some preliminary pictures and a brief synopsis of what he could see visually during the exam. Did you get one of those? Maybe that would give you some clues as to what he observed. He is likely waiting on the pathology results of the biopsy samples.
Bummer that it's saturday now because the dr's office is probably closed. But I would call first thing on Monday and schedule a follow-up. _________________ -Colleen

The biopsy report will list lots of thing like visual observations and if they found any areas or inflamation or irritation. The samples that were taken will be studied under a microscope, which will hopefully shed some light on what is going on with you, celiac or not. I think they look at it with an eye toward diagnosing something, not just celiac.
They were not suspecting celiac at all with my biopsy, but that's what they found. I had cancer as a teenager which was treated by lots of radiation treatments to my abdomen. They thought that the radiation injury was what was causing my problems, but lo and behold 18 years later we discovered it was celiac. BELIEVE ME, I know how hard waiting can be. _________________ -Colleen

| Thanks , I know he was looking for celiac ive been going to this gi since jan and at my last visit before the biopsy he said i reviewed your chart and i relized i never checked you for celiac so thats when he said its a blood test before I left he changed his mind and said the only true way is to do the biopsy so thats what I did . I wish i could of remembered talking to the Dr afterwards . I guess i just need to be patient and wait for them to call with results . I just wish it didnt take so long when i had the colonskpy i got the results in jst 2 days this time i guess it just takes a little longer . |
