This dessert is a lovely treat along with any dinner.. especially those of the "Suprise" variety. No baking involved!

Before:

Side:

Time:
15 minutes at most

Difficulty:
EASY PEASY

Serving Size:
1 Cup = 1 portion

Ingredients

* Gluten free cookies (or plain gluten cookies - sugar cookies do nicely, but I used an applesauce based GF cookie)
* Whipped cream (canned or Cool Whip)
* Chocolate Sauce (Hersheys or another)
* Sliced strawberries
* Nuts of your choice

Preparation

1. Pick your favorite pack of cookies (I used Glutano's 'Wizards' variety). These will be used to line your dish between layers.
2.Slice your strawberries (use your discretion. I sliced them very small to spread them out more and have the illusion of many more strawberries than I actually had)
3. Get out your syrup and whipped topping of choice and keep them nearby. (same for nuts!)

Prep your glass dish with a layer of cookies, then add each item successively in order.

Order of ingredients:

Cookie layer
Thin Strawberry layer
Put on whipped topping of choice
Chocolate syrup

and repeat layers until you reach the top. The top layer will stop with whatever you want it to end with.

I added nuts to the top to give it that added flair. Sometimes I add chocolate sprinkles.

The cookie layer takes the extra moisture from the strawberries and keeps this dish from being runny. The added flavor of the cookies also helps this to be a "filling" (makes you full) recipe.

Place into the fridge when steps are complete, chill as little as 20 minutes as dinner is served... There will be no left overs.

Depending on the size of the dish you use and amount of ingredients, your serving size will vary.

I used a small 10in x 4in oval pan, and we had several servings. I'm unsure how many exactly as we were all dipping out extras and I didn't pay that much attention (sorry!)

Seriously we had one serving left last night (usually have none left)!

End result at dinner:
