Thanks for this post and for the continued bumping to the top! I am awaiting my biopsy - have to wait five weeks which feels like forever. I have had many of the symptoms and some only recently. I think that might be because I just recently started eating bread and pasta regularly again. In past I have found that it makes me gain weight, so I ate minimal amounts which might be why symptoms were mild.
Now, it's all making sense with my bloating, gas, headaches, tiredness, anemia and previously constipation which has now turned to diarrhea (fun!). I found the list of symptoms daunting but it sure makes it clear why it's underdiagnosed. I too thought you had to lose a ton of weight or be really skinny to have celiac - not so. I am so glad I am being sent for biopsy - if diagnosed, it will have been about 1.5 yrs of mild to moderate symptoms.
Thanks to all of you GF-ers for your time and info!

This link went bad. I tried googling to find the .pdf file but couldn't.
Does anyone have a copy they could post somewhere?

Hi Leonard,

Welcome to the board!

Let's try this one... http://www.aafp.org/afp/980301ap/pruessn.html

Thanks for letting me know that one is broken. I'll go fix it.

Ooops - I see that it's a different one you are looking for. I think that one may be gone. I may have it in my private stash tho... I'd have to look when I get home.

If I remember correctly - that one was a good one too! Sad

PostPosted: Mon Oct 12, 2009 5:33 pm    Post subject: Intestinal damage what? Reply with quote

So much research and I am still confused yet more concerned!!! I am 27 yrs old and I am pretty sure that I have had Celiac all of my life. I have not been diagnosed... that costs money and I already did that runaround with my Hypothyroid disease and Adrenal Fatigue. I have had many of the symptoms talked about since I was a child (with the exception of my teenage years) with a few twists. I have had severe, severe acne for years...not normal acne but festering infected acne... and apparantly it is rare to gain wight with CD but I believe it may have been a whole lot of bloating and a a whole lot of wieght gain combined.Since I started the GF diet a few months back, the change has been amazing! i thought for a very long time that I never wanted to eat food again because it made me SOOOOO sick and so tired! I have five children, the oldest being six and that just doesn't work.... I also found before that if I starved myself, I actually had more energy than if I ate! It was awful.....Anyway, my big question is this...... I realize that being diagnosed is difficult if not impossible and i don't have the money, however.... if I have damage to organs or intestines.... it's probably important that I get that checked out...... what kind of symptoms should I be looking for per damage to intestines and organs?????? Because, to be honest, it's been six months of trying to figure out a completely GF lifestyle, I have been glutened quite a few times and i don't want to go back to that unless it's absolutely nessasary for my overall health and well being.... Can anyone let me know? Symptoms of organ or intestinal damage connected with CD... sorry I'm a babbler! Thanks everyone!!!
