Hello all
I found this place last night, well in the middle of the night to be precise after being woken yet again with terrible itching on my legs. I've been folic acid deficient before and had the itching then so I think I'm deficient again since I also have the cracks at the side of my mouth. But that's not why I'm here. I had forgotten that being deficient in certain vitamins can be down to malabsorption, I did a little more research and Celiac disease came into the equation. My diet is fine, other half is a wonderful cook and I eat very nutritious meals almost every day so I can't understand why I would ever be deficient in anything.
I am 38 and have peridontal disease and quite advanced loss of bone in my mouth, I have also developed a painful hump on my back and everything I'm seeing points to osteoporosis for that. I'll need to get checked out but the more I read, the more everything falls into place for me.
I thought everyone's stools floated incidentally, I was shocked today to find out that my other half's stools only float sometimes the rest of the time they lie at the bottom of the pan (gross sorry). I asked my son and he said the same thing. Since I can remember mine have always floated, I've never seen them at the bottom. They're not smelly or at least they weren't lol how nasty is this?? but they are always fat looking would that be the same as bulky??? Just recently I've felt cramps when I need to move my bowels, I've always been a two a week kind of person and just about always constipated, I go a lot more now and the stools are sort of softer if you get my drift.
Can anyone relate to any of this??? Sound like Celiac or gluten intolerance?? I'm going to the docs soon, I keep putting it off for some strange reason yet I always nag everyone else to go. Need to take some of my own medicine.
Thanks for listening.
Forgot to add that I'm very bloated too, does anyone have a list of other symptoms??? |

Hi Buntah,
Welcome to the board!
I'm running short on time so I can't give you a full answer right now. Have you seen the Symptom List Post? It lists many symptoms associtated with CD and gluten sensitivity. _________________ Al
