My son moved to Baltimore in September (he's been out of the house for several years, but always nearby).
Now my baby girl is getting ready to head off to KC in January for college.
When did they grow up, and when did I get old enough to have grown children?
People keep asking me what I am going to do when she leaves. So far, my response has been that I'm not ready to think about it yet. My house will be so quiet. She was homeschooled until she started college in the fall at our local community college, so I've always had her around.
I joked about starting college with her in the fall, but she didn't want her friends saying, "Hey, I have a class with your mom!", but now that she'll be off to Kansas, maybe I'll go next fall. It's probably about time I figure out what I want to be when I grow up!
Anyway, we would appreciate your prayers to help us all get accustomed to the next phase in our lives. _________________ Donna - Daughter to Eli, diagnosed with CD in 1968,

LOL! My mom went off to college when my sis and I did too! We were on campus together and I actually loved it. (Our family is close knit so it wasn't a big deal for us). She never got her degree and so since she wasn't so focused on us she could work on herself a bit. It was a great way for her to transition from full house to empty nest (though don't think you've gotten rid of them that easy - at one point both my sis and I had to move back home for a bit as we transitioned from college to real world. They may come back too... and just when you've converted their old bedrooms into an in home gym and a craft room! ) _________________ Cheers!
