Hi
This is the first time I have posted on your forum.
I have been gf, for 2 1/2 years. Then went soy, casein, dairy free.
I have found going off Night shades and deleting the foods left that were high in oxalates helping so much. I also take calcium caltrate D with meals the help 'dump' the build up of these oxalate crystals.
Has anyone else found this helpfull?

Hi, Judy. Glad you found us. There are several people on the board that avoid nightshades. I am not one of them so can't speak to their experiences. Hopefully one of them will chime in with their experiences.
Hope you get the answers you need. I mostly just wanted to post to welcome you aboard. _________________ -Colleen

Hi Judy,
I avoid several foods, as you do, starting with gluten and moving on to the others. I find that nightshades bother me when I eat them more than once a week, though it's rarely even that often. A little bit of potatos, a little bit of pepper (jalapeno, mostly) go a long way with me. Too much and I have joint pain and inflammation that irritates anything that is likely to hurt (old injuries, overworked body parts).
I am about to explore oxlates, having cut out so many foods, and still having issues, because it seems a natural way to go. I've seen plenty of discussion on this topic on other forums. What does the D do for you?

My mother has rheumatoid arthritis and has had much success with avoiding nightshades. She is not gluten free, and thankfully I don't seem to have a problem with them so no info on combining the two diets. _________________ Lauren
