I read somewhere yesterday that Cape Cod potato chips are GF. I checked the website today and no allergy info was listed so I emailed them. Within a couple hours I got a response! See below:

Quote:
Our Beachside Barbecue contains gluten.
When this powdered seasoning is produced it could be in the same room at the same time (on different machines) as our No-Salt, Classic, Reduced Fat, Sea Salt & Vinegar, Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper, Cheddar Jack & Sour Cream or Jalapeno & Cheddar so there may be some chance of contact with the dust in the air.

We do wash and sanitize our equipment between production runs of gluten and gluten free containing products.

We do not use seasoning when we run the russets.

I have their allergy checklist and want to attach it for you all but not sure how. help?

Happy snacking!

Thanks for the info! What kind of file is their allergen checklist? If it's something like a Word file you can:

1. Open the file
2. Highlight what you want to post and hit Copy (Ctrl + C)
3. Log back onto here
4. Hit reply on this thread, then hit Paste (Ctrl + V)

Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper
Sea Salt & Vinegar

I found out recently, too, that the Baked Lays K.C. Masterpiece flavor is NOT GF!! There's wheat starch in the flavoring...same with the red Doritos...

Also, I believe that there's a variety of salt & vinegar chips (I think it's the Kettle Cooked brand, but I'm not 100% on that) that is not GF, either...

I'm not a big chips eater, but the guys I work with eat those salt & vinegar chips like they're going out of style, so they always check the labels when we go out to Kings (it's the supermarket by my work)...
