Sean and I finally sat down to write up his celiac camp experience. It's kind of a random stream of consciousness read, but I think you get the idea. I typed it exactly as he said it. Sean says he had a pretty good time, but hasn't decided if he wants to go next year. The pic is from when he was getting on the boat.

Hey Sean, that's sounds pretty cool! Any place with tater tots can't be all bad. 
I gotta ask...what is "polar bearing" and road runner? I think the stargazing and meteor shower would've been my faves.

Too bad they don't have something like that for adults [aka big kids  ].

Road Runner is when you get up early and you have to run through the entire camp and back. Your counselor wakes you up and when you are done you have breakfast. That's it. You get a patch for doing it. It's purple with a road runner on it. I have the badge.
One time we slept in the orchard. There was a big octagon thingie made of logs and we put our sleeping bags in the middle. Then we went to sleep.
On our first day there we made smores on the beach. You got to eat 2 smores, and people dug holes in the sand, and threw their s'mores in the fire. I didn't throw my s'more in the fire, I ate it. Somebody roasted a peach.
We got to make ice cream. We got sugar, rock salt, ice, milk, and shook it up in a baggie. It was good. You could have vanilla or blackberry.
On the boat on the way there, we had a dance contest, a limbo contest and we shot a Twinkie out the horn. The driver of the boat was named Mooselips.
My counselor was French, and his camp name was Dijon. He was nice, but sometimes it was hard to understand him.
In arts and crafts I made a candle.
They had a water slide, but I didn't go on it. They did a touch tank on the beach. I touched a starfish, crab, sand dollar, but I didn't touch the octopus. Some people went fishing, but nobody caught a fish. |

Wow Sean! That sounds like the neatest camp in the whole world! But breakfast in bed?!?!?! At the camp I went to as a kid they blew a bugle really loud, really early, every morning and we had to get up and go do jumping jacks and other dumb stuff. I wish I could have gone to your camp! Glad you had a good time!

Sean, thats great that you had a super good time!! and that the food was great too:) jealous that you got breakfast in bed:) Here is to another great year for next year when you get to go back
