Hello, I've been chronically anemic with my celiac, and lately noticed a new symtpom, thinking it might be my low blood count & pressure. But I notice this mostly when I stand up or lay down at night,.....when I take a deep breath or just stand up, I feel blood rushing into my left hand.
Any one else experience this? |

Hi Ann,
Welcome to the board!
That's kind of strange. Do you have numbness, tingling, burning in your hands/feet? What you are feeling maybe peripheral neuropathy.
I get this feeling of blood rushing/throbbing in my feet/legs when I get out of bed in the morning. I have PN too.
Has your anemia gotten any better? How long have you been GF? _________________ Al

Hi,
I too have been anemic with my celiac. I know it is common in anemia to feel light-headed when standing or lying down. And to also feel like you are not getting enough oxygen when you breathe. I can't recall feeling any blood rushing to my hand. Hmm. If I come across something I'll let you know.

Hi Ann,
I too have anemia, have had, it was one of the clues that led the gastrointestinal dr to make the diagnosis of celiac. I give myself B-12 shots 1/month and take increased iron daily. It definitely makes a difference.
