|
|
Hey everyone,
We're leaving within the hour to go to the Ped for Matthew, as I mentioned, I'm going to bring up the subject of Celiac once again. I'm going to have her pull his records and discuss the Pos blood test result he had nearly a year ago. I was wondering, can anyone tell me anything I need to know about this test. Like normal and abnormal limits.. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to feel like I'm going in there with something other than my "mommy knowledge".
TIA You all have been wonderful!

Hi Kristie,
There are several tests in the celiac panel.
Might this help?

Thanks Al!
I just knew you would come through! I'll be sure to read through everything once I get him down to bed tonight.)
She was very willing to help in any way she can. She's ordered another Antigliadin test for Matthew. The 1st one he's had done (now I'm speaking without the knowledge of the link you sent, so please bare with me) But the doctor said that the low range is between 20-30 and he tested at 30. I'm not sure at this point if 30 is further or closer to "normal range" or pos range for Celiac. However, she's wanting to retest him now (with being gluten free) and after seeing the results, she may move onto other tests he hasn't yet had. I'll keep you posted, Thank you again so much for all the help.

You're welcome!
I'm glad your doc is willing to work WITH you on this...many are not so lucky!
A complete Celiac Blood Panel:
antigliadin IgA and IgG (May indicate Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity)
anti-tTG and/or anti-endomysial (Looks for villi damage)
total serum IgA (rules out IgA deficiency)
anti-reticulin IgA (Rarely used but, a very thorough doctor will include this)
