Hi all,

My wife and I are going to be driving down from Nova Scotia just before Christmas, and spending a week with my folks in New York City. We're going to be driving through Maine, NH, Mass., and CT on our way down obviously.

While on our way down (or up), we'd like to try to take advantage of the trip to pick up any neat GF foods we can stock up on which might only be available in the USA. So, does anyone have any good stores to recommend and/or good GF brands/foods we might be able to pick up along the way?

Specifically, I'm looking for good bread/bun/bagel products, flour mixes, dough "wrap" types of things (like tortillas), pizza crusts or pizza crust mixes, and meats (for instance, I'm going to try to bring back a large pack of Sabrett hot dogs, which I believe--I'll doublecheck of course--are GF). I'm already set for pasta....love my Canadian Rizopia.

One stop that's already pencilled in--Rosie's Bakery in New Brunswick. Thankfully it's pretty much on our route down.

Thanks for any and all recommendations!

--Dave

In NYC, go to Rissotteria. Amazing gluten free pizza and bread sticks. Very Happy

Absolutely--first place I'm going is Risotteria Wink I've heard the pizza there is amazing, and guess what? It's literally only three blocks from where I used to live in NYC (when I was 30, eight years ago, I moved to Canada)! I must've walked by there all my life (pre-celiac)...I never realized it would become my most looked-forward-to place to visit Wink

Sorry, I should've been clearer--I've researched places in NYC (my home town) pretty thoroughly. What I'm not quite so "up on" is places along the way (for discussion purposes let's assume "along the way" means "places within a couple of miles of I-95").

This is not that exciting but you might hit Trader Joes... there's a bunch in CT just off I-95. you could pick up their granola- it's like the Bakery on Main but way cheaper.
