Mrs. P, I know what it is to be needing the help and not getting it. Social Security has had us on a hook for 2 years now. we are doing the same - paying the mortgage because we don't want to live in the street and letting other bills go. Now the gov't has stepped in and said if we will agree to be deadbeats for 3 months and not pay our mortgage, they will gladly pay it for us, pay off a chunk of our loan, and lower our interest and payments. I don't think so!
I've been wondering where you were, but I figured you were busy with the holidays. I should never assume.
Thoughts and prayers are coming your way. Check out some library books and put your feet up! If you can get interested in a good book, it will take your mind off of the things you have no control over.
Hoping things get a bit easier to handle!

Mrs P- Praying for you. Wish I could come on over with a pot of tea, some GF cookies and have a good chat and cuppa with you. You have given so much to this board. Don't stay away, it's our turn to be here for you. _________________ Steph |

| I always think of Mrs. P and Steph as the "moms" on the board. |

Thanks everyone! Thanks for the 'mom' award. I guess I do strut about like a mother hen when the 'chicks' are needing help. LOL I hate to see anyone sick.
Thanks for your prayers and advice. I am sipping rosehips and white tea right now.
and even 'breathing'. LOL _________________

It has been a long time since I checked in. We moved into our new home back in May, and now may have to put it up for sale. Just like Mrs. P the economy is KILLING us.
My husband has a window business and new constuction is non existent. So we invested into a new busness with asphalt patching. When gas went up so high that also died. So then he invested in snow removal equipment including a two trucks with plow and salters, and guess what, NO SNOW! So we are praying really hard we will finally get some snow, before we can't afford the morgage.
I started a pre-school out of my house, it has been a lot of fun, but a lot of work.
Thanksgiving was great I made green bean casserole, with homemade cream of mushroom soup and funyuns. Everyone liked it better, so I am now in charge of the casserole and the Gluten free pies!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and New Year! I need to get on more often. I have just been so busy. |

Hey Sheralyn! Glad you came back to give us an update. Yeah, we hear it's been 50 degrees out there. Peg's niece [the one that works at the zoo], is back in WI for a few days. She said it was 50 when she left and it was honking off all the skiers/snowboarders [and snow removal companies] It's cold and snowy here. We're battening down the hatches for a big storm now - 7 -14" is expected tonight/tomorrow.
Hope things start to turn around for hubby's businesses! _________________ Al

Checking in...
Jonathan is now 6 months old and I've had some really busy weeks. Between what's going on back home, and stuff here. I have been stressed out a bit.
We had another pediatric visit on Friday last week which was really crappy. There's nothing wrong with the baby, there's just wrong thinking with the pedi we saw, and she had us wait over an hour in the waiting room and wouldn't listen when we told her what all JD is up to. There was a lot wrong with that visit, but I am trying to be good and grown up and just forget about it and complain next time we go in 2 months.
I will request we never see that doctor again. She was terribly rude and did not at all consider my genes or genetic makeup in the exam.
Jonathan is 90th for height and 25th for weight, BUT - is an active little soul. I'm lucky if he takes three naps in the day lasting 20 minutes each spread between 9am, 12/1pm and somewhere around 4. He's so busy that if I close my eyes he's somewhere else by the time I open them again. "He's only crawling though..."
I offered him some potatoes so we can placate her and the other doc next time we come in 2 months and say "we offered him food but he doesn't want it still". He has no interest in solids or eating food we have. He likes his milk. I'm fine with that as are leading doctors and pediatricians, but aparently the pedi is all "by the chart" happy and really doesn't like me.
No skin off my nose, I didn't like her the first time I met her. Usually I'm a good judge of character, but somehow we got stuck with her again.
Anyway.. Other than that, two friends of ours that were witnesses at both our wedding have been coming over for the last month and a half every Thursday evening for dinner and games. We host them, and have a good time. Their baby is due in January. We'll see if he's early or late...
I'd been cooking fairly frequently, but lately I've fallen off that wagon and been letting DH spread his cooking wings. I want to do more -- I'm just exhausted from stress and doing and doing and doing some more. Usually if I ask DH to help with the baby, he's tired by 10 minutes into it... So to escape ""The baby needs you!!!"" every 5 minutes, I let him do it.
We're building up our pantry and I'm trying to build up a freezer "store" as well... but it's slow going.
We got some new organic store here that I love, and our organic + gluten free supply box store came to town as well. I'm loving it, as it makes shopping easier. Sadly though, our great supply of meat has disappeared with no explination why. So we're getting our meat a lot more expensively at other stores. I'm watching the sales papers and getting our beef, chicken, turkey, lamb, fish and other poultry on sale. I'm freezing what we can to use thru the month so we can stretch the big cost out.
My MIL and FIL are doing ok, we've just all been really busy with the little one and trying to look after stuff back home and figure out how to get me able to fly home.
I'm mostly at home as cold as it is out, I don't want the baby to get sick so I prefer to keep him warm and happy with music, tv, toys and "helping" do laundry and cooking.
So if I've been missed/missing... that's probably it.. _________________

| Quote: | | Hey Monica - when you were in Keystone did you see the free, outdoor concert late Friday afternoon? The stage van and video came from the company I work for. |
We didn't see the concert in the afternoon, just the evening one. The lights and such. We didn't stay long. We had been tubing and it was bitterly cold and windy, so we just stayed a few mintues!
