My DD found this link. I know that a good many of you enjoy the Lara Bars. The recipe looks economical and easy to do.

Totally kewl! I recently picked up a box of dates on a whim thinking I would find something to do with them, but they have just been sitting in my cupboard taunting me. I may have to give this a try. I do love Larabars, but we are so broke lately we can't even pay attention!

Smile

I love the boomi bars better. LOL My favorite is Dates and Walnuts. I think that I can make it with a few adjustments to this recipe.

MrP is tolerating dates pretty well. I do not give them too often, but he has been eating them chopped up in his Bob's GF oatmeal. I found a 2 pound tub of nothing added to them at the Med. market and they were only $6. YEA!

I understand completely about the little money thing! This should be very cost effective. Around Christmas time in the past, they would have a tub of dried cherries for really reasonable prices at Sam's Club. If you have access to one, you might want to look and stock up so you can make you and your family the bars if the recipe works for you.

Yummy! I tried this recipe 2x today. I made a date/pistachio one and a date/walnut one. From each batch I got 2 Larabar sized bars. I don't know if it was cheaper to make them myself or not. Will have to do the math and see. But they sure taste great, and it's nice to have them in the fridge for eating on the go. You would not know that these things are not junk food. They are so sweet and delicious.

Thanks for the great recipe find, Mrs. P and Hadassah!
