Can anyone please tell me if the Mc Donalds chips contain any traces of gluten?? I have sent them an e-mail over 10 days ago but no reply.

I cant afford to do the test of eating them without knowing first as I tend to get very sick whenever I eat something that contains gluten. i am very careful when it comes to chips in restaurants as some contain gluten, but mostly I can tolerate.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Pitzi,

Welcome to the board.

Hmmm, are you from overseas? Smile I'm guessing you are asking about french fries as we call them here in the States.

Yes they are GF!! McDonalds have seperate friers for their fries so they are not contaminated by glutenated oil. This is not the case with all food places. Burger King, for example, will also fry their onion rings in the same oil. The batter they use is not GF, so it contaminates the fries. I will substitute Baked potato for fries (Chips Smile), if available. However baked potatoes are not usually available in fast food likes. Wendy's have baked potatoes. http://www.wendys.com/food/US_nutrition_topics.jsp#gluten

Here's McD's GF menu: http://www.mcdonalds.com/app_controller.nutrition.categories.gluten.index.html

Enjoy!!
