I use the BRM pizza crust mix and pancake mix, has anyone used the all purpose mix with good results? I just want to try something different than the Betty Hagman 3 flour mix that I use. Also the price was pretty cheap 2.99 for 22 oz.
thanks

Hi Bob,
I use it but not as a 1:1 for flour in a recipe. Usually I would use it as a bit of the recipe, then still add others depending on what the recipe is. It probably will work 1:1 (it says it does) but I have never tried it that way. I like adding more nutrition through other flours with it (and other tastes).

I used it for Crescent Rolls, apple crisp, and in beef stew, and it seemed to work just fine. I haven't tried it in too many things, but I haven't had the time, patience, or money to get all kinds of flours and mix my own, so I figure it'll have to do for now. Hopefully soon I can try other kinds and see how it goes. I'm kind of hoping it works better because it's more convenient for me.

Hi Bob,

I use the BRM all purpose mix for almost everything with great results. Not quite as grainy as some of the Hagman mixes and tastier. Just follow the guidelines on their website for the amount of Xanthan/Guar gum to use for different types of baked goods.

The Chocolate cake recipe on their website was even better than the "real thing".

I use the BRM all-purpose baking mix in pancakes with great results. It took a little trial and error to get my old recipe to work because I needed to cut back on the liquid, but they taste great. I now make them every Sunday and NGF husband loves them.

I have used the mix for cookies too and I think they come out great.

I personally don't care for that mix becasue I cannot stomach the taste of bean flours. I did make brownies with it once, though, and that worked well. The chocolate covered up the bean flour taste.

That's because you're making the wrong brownies.
