Hello!

Can anyone provide more information about testing for food intolerances? I know I can't tolerate gluten AT ALL. I am now discovering that additives (sulfites, sweeteners and preservatives) are causing troubles. I saw an allergist last week who only offered skin testing and then recommended I start a food diary (duh - already have). I'd appreciate information.

Hi,

Running very short on time. Have you seen York? http://www.yorktest.com/

I think there are 1 or 2 others...gotta look 'em up tho.

I'll be back.

I thought I would revive this thread in case it helps someone else down the road - I have found enormous support and help from reading everyone else's posts here over the past few months!

So...I did order the FoodScan Test from Yorklabs just because I figured I would check it out and see. I have some reservations about its accuracy, but it can't hurt in any way to eliminate more foods! I've become pretty good at it Smile.

I found the test to be simple to use and it can be sent through regular mail. The first result is a simple "Positive" or "Negative" result as to whether your blood indicates food sensitivity. I think they batch test against multiple foods. My sample came back positive and so the next test (they use the same sample so you can just say yes and pay a bit more Smile ) is against specific foods. I'll post again with those results.

On a positive note, I have now been GF for a year. What seemed hard at first, now seems like a simple thing, because over the past few months, I also have had to cut out preservatives (not easy at all). I have felt 100% for a whole month though and it is SO nice to feel healthy.

Keep believing in yourself if you are struggling with food and listen to your body. Thanks everyone!

True. Listen, take notes, learn, take action (if needed)!
