Ok, diagnosed just before Thanksgiving. Went to gastro on December 1st. Had a follow-up appointment yesterday. Have been strictly GF/CF since 12/1, eating only whole food and not counting calories, just nutrition. I LOST 14 POUNDS! Yea!!!!! Finally, a real positive! I shall dance as I de-glutenize my kitchen! |

Good for you!!
Be aware, this can be a quite a roller coaster ride. Once your intestines heal and start absorbing properly, you may start to gain weight. Add to this - the fact the many GF processed foods are high in fat. This compounds the problem...
Keep up the good work!! _________________ Al

| I attribute the weight loss to fear. This has been an emotional 6 weeks, and I'm only eating whole foods, with an occasional cracker thrown in. I like Mary's Gone Cracker's Caraway flavor, and I may eat about 3 per week. I do not eat processed foods at all - I noticed a lot of them contain milk, so that keeps me away. I'm so new, I'm eating just very basic food. I've only just begun cleaning the kitchen, calling manufacturers, etc. Fear of being sick has been a great motivator and has kept me out of the cupboards and fridge! We'll see in 6 months and in a year..... |
