My husband and I both have fibro. I know that the studies I have read in the past say that if you have one auto immune problem, it can lead to others cropping up. Fibro is listed as one that you can develope.
How are you doing coping with all of the weird weather changes? Are you making sure that you fibro meds are GF? _________________

Once I got a diagnosis for FM in 2002, I realized I've had it my entire life. And, I've had IBS my entire life (a symptom of FM). It's the process of trying to feel better than lead me to a GF diet.
Other food sensitivities, I believe, play a role. I also have a sensitivity to soy and you'd be surprised what it's in...including plastics. So, I also have an allergy to plastics.
Between going GF, avoiding plastics, and taking extra Vitamin D, I finally feel fairly human. I have other health issues, but FM is the area I've focused on.
So, in answer to BobO2's question...personally, I'd say yes. _________________

BobO2...There are many opinions on the cause of FM, but, for me, I've come to believe it's the result of chemical sensitivities...of all kinds. This includes medications of any and all sorts and chemicals including herbicides and pesticides.
Consider that most wheat that's being grown these days is bombarded with these substances and/or they're genetically modified. IMHO...that's why it's so hard for us to digest or have a severe allergy. Being GF is only a small part of FM.
Most processed foods these days have so many additives, it's ridiculous. Eating "real food" has also made a difference for me (especially avoiding MSG). Do hope you do the same...fibromyalgia is very, very uncomfortable (putting it mildly).
I wish you well... _________________

yes, yes, yes!
I didn't realize how badly I had fibro until my doc gave me Deplin (methylfolate) to clear the homocysteine from my BRAIN. It just aggravated the hell-o out of the fibro!
It took a while to realize it, but I finally figured out I needed ANOTHER methyl donor to clear the homocysteine from my JOINTS. So now I take MSM for my joints, and Deplin for my brain, and feel MUCH, MUCH better.
Like many celiacs, I have a lot of nutritional deficiencies. Here is my personal daily supplement list. OBVIOUSLY THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO PRESCRIBE FOR EVERYONE. I state it only as what works for me! (EVERYBODY SAY, "OKAY!" We get it!)
AM Supplements:
Deplin 7.5 (Rx, you get it from your doc!)
SAM-e, 400mg
MSM, 1or2X1000mg
B12 (as methylcobolamine) 1000mcg
Rhodiola (an herb, for chronic fatigue, alternately you can try NAC, an amino acid) I take 2 of the Rhodiola
Fish oil 2X1000mg
PM Supplements:
Deplin 7.5 (Rx, you get it from your doc!)
MSM, 1or2X1000mg
Fish oil 2X1000mg
Valarian Root (an herb, for sleep! I have horrible insomnia! This works!) I take 3 of the Valarian Root
I hope this helps other fibro people have a place to start when looking for some answers!! The homocysteine levels are inflammatory! And the inflammation can be found anywhere - blood, brain, joints, etc. A total approach is what's needed here. _________________ Love,

Yeah - I agree! I am taking a lot of supplements. And I would love to cut down a few (several). But at this particular moment, I am not well enough to do that!
I've been thinking a lot about Vit D, and whether or not I should be taking it. My calcium levels are right where they should be (last blood test). A miracle, I know! So, for the moment, things are good in that department. But, we still have about 4 more long months of winter ahead of us, and I might reconsider in a little while! _________________ Love,

| I have Fibro, and I have found that the nightshades really aggravated my fibro. Once I eliminated those the pain I had in the mornings have all but gone away. |

There are MANY other antioxidant options outside of the nightshades. Avoiding them is worth trying, it makes a huge difference for some people. _________________ Lauren
