It has been a banner month for finding GF food at the Grocery Outlet. I do a lot of my everyday shopping there for foods that are naturally GF - cheese, yogurt, lunchmeats, produce, etc. But lately they have been having a ton of specialty GF stuff at great prices! Here are a few examples:

Health Valley Corn and Rice Crunchems - $.99/box
Pamela's Cookies - $.99/box
DeBole's Pasta - $1.29 box
Amy's Frozen dinners - $1.99
Cliff Nectar bars - $.59

If you have a discount grocery store near you, you might check them for GF items. You might be surprised at what you find!

That would be great. All I know of around here is Big Lots (not really that cheap), Aldi (again, I usually do better with sales and coupons) and Compare foods (hispanic grocery chain).

I just looked and the closest salvage grocery store is an hour away. Oh well. At least I have a decent asian market where I can find almond cookies from time to time.

Those Grocery Outlet stores sound great! We don't have them around here, but anyone in New England that likes Bob's Red Mill flours and mixes should check out Ocean State Job Lots. They sell them cheaper than other stores, plus they sometimes have sales. They don't have a lot of naturally GF foods (at least not in my small store), but they do have rice noodles, salad dressings, and some other nonperishables that are GF.

Woohoo! Lucky girl! We don't have any of those around here. The 99 cent Pamela's cookies is pretty impressive.

Does anyone else have trouble with Amy's frozen foods? I feel pretty bad every time I eat those things and have given them up for good now. I would not regard myself as a super sensitive type, but those things just do me in every time.

Those prices are amazing! It sounds really great.

It seems like a west coast thing maybe....didn't see any near me in the midwest.

The problem I find with grocery outlet is, they're product inventory is not consistent. I found the Pamela cookies there once, but never again... but if you can find them, its a great deal

More GF bargains at the Grocery Outlet tonight!

Glutino Vanilla Dreams Sandwich Cookies - 3/$1.00 (I bought 2 cases)
Glutino Pretzels - 2/$1 (I bought a case)
Glutino Wafer Cookies (lemon, chocolate and strawberry) $.99/box. (I bought an assorted case)

I spend $27 and saved $78! I may go back tomorrow and clean the store out.

At those prices, I would do the same. I wish we had that around here.

Thank you Jean! Today I went to the Ocean State Job Lots in NH that's near me and saved a lot of money. They had Sam Mills corn pasta for $1.50 a lb (I just paid $2.35 at the HFS yesterday for the same thing.) I also bought Rachel Ray's chicken broth for $2 a box ($2.85 at the grocery store). My biggest score was a 5 lb. bag of Scharffen Berger 70% cacao baking chocolate for $10! Now as long as I can refrain from just eating the chocolate...

My local Job Lots started carrying that stuff too, and it is without a doubt my favorite GF pasta. With all the expensive pastas that I tried, I can't believe my favorite ended up being so cheap!

I still wish I had a Grocery Outlet nearby though. Smile

I really like the Sam Mills. I made a fantastic chicken cacciatore using their penne a few weeks ago. It was the first time I had tried it. I tried the rotini about a week ago, and didn't like the results quite as much. It broke up a lot. The penne was perfect, and didn't break up during cooking at all. Job Lots only had the elbows and small shells.

The Job Lots I went to today has been there for years. I can't believe I never tried them before.
