Peggers was doing some NGF baking today [GF baking was yesterday], so I decided to do an unscientific experiment...

We placed several dark blue [sorry no black] pieces of paper around the kitchen.

No mixer was used in today's experiment, it was all mixed by hand.

2 were sitting between 6" - 2' of the mixing/measuring of the ingredients and rolling out of the dough.
1 was sitting on top of the stove [about 2'-3' feet from the mixing/measuring/rolling].

The 2 sitting closest to the mixing/measuring/rolling stations had a few small specks/splotches of NGF flour on them. [I didn't think of it till right now, I should taken pictures RATS! - next time...]

The one sitting on the stove had no visible NGF flour on it.

Cool idea! Sounds kind of scientific to me. That's reassuring. I imagine that a mixer might make a difference. At my house if grandchildren were helping me bake it might be quite a different story! Laughing Shocked

I'm glad you posted that because I've been toying with the idea of getting another bread machine to make NGF bread for DH. I can make bread for pennies a loaf, as opposed to $3-$4 for a decent loaf at the store.

I was going to say if my 3yo were helping, there would be flour on paper probably 5 feet away! The reason I decided no more NGF baking in the house is because she always likes to help me.

I always used to make, by hand, our bread. After DX and reading different sites I realized I had to stop. I told DH that if wanted home made bread he would have to make it. He now makes his bread, it looks and smells wonderful. BUT THE MESS IN THE KITCHEN. Grube
