I thought this might be a good topic for people to vent random frustrations. I know I want to scream right now, but I'd rather not discuss it here (how's that for not making sense).
if you're friends with me on facebook, you can find out my situation there. |

Thanks TEC (I think )
I'll start it off with the weather. Why is it going to snow on my birthday? April 6th is spring, not winter. Hopefully it's at least a pretty snow.
(my whole point is that sometimes venting helps make things not seem so bad, so I thought I'd give the opportunity. Odd yes, but also helpful--I hope. Maybe asking what makes people happy would have been a better topic.) |

My doctors are afraid to rx me meds according to a protocol with excellent published results, because it was written in Europe! They only want to follow protocols written in the US, and are afraid they'll get in trouble if they stray from that.
Easy solution thankfully, none of the meds are controlled substances, so one is getting shipped in from hong kong (where it's OTC) and I got the other one at the feed store yesterday.
Hopefully in 2 to 3 months I'll feel like a normal person again. Damn "we're scared to think about what might lie outside of our comfy little box" doctors. _________________ Lauren

Oh my! What gets me going and needing to vent? seems like there is a lot more lately, but that could be due to the personal issues I am dealing with just learning my sister is dying and dealing with no money right now.
A big button issue is someone suggesting that I am lying about something. That one will raise a huge red flag in front of the bull response.
I hate someone calling for a bill that is late and them promising to call me back the next day after talking to their boss............a week later and no call back.
Venting helps, but sometimes, you just want to smash dishes like the Greeks do. LOL _________________

Oh my! How I luv to vent. Ventin' my fav subject. Let me see...I agree with Mrs. P. I do not peeps to call me a liar. I don't like smart alecks. A few of my co-workers can get me going. My teenage girls are a big venting issue. Oh how I dislike tail-gaters. I am not a slow driver, but not real fast either. I can't stand it when they git on my tail end. I have been known to pull over and then get on their tails. hmmmm...what else....we have three ankle biter doggies. When they are out of their lot and they go to barkin in the middle of the night (like they did last night) grrrrr. I told my 11 yr old to put them in their lot so I can sleep tonight. I will hush...I could go on and on. |

Stupid people, they really get to me! They are the ones that pull out in front of you in traffic, or leave a shopping cart in the middle of the lanes, or call work and then say, "Are you open today"? I mean really, "No, we are not open, I am a human answering machine!"
Next, is lazy workers. I hate when other people leave their work for you to do, just because they know you will not disappoint the boss. My job gets me so stressed sometimes...but, this too will pass. Right? _________________ You can't discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore! |

I'm with you on this one..,..irritates the hell out of me.
Drivers that turn right from the left lane (or left from the right lane) because they just want to makes me nuts as well. It seems to be an epidemic in Chicago. _________________ Rachel |

4 lane roads, left lane slow drivers...two lane road "parade leaders" (35 in a 50)...grocery carts closing off the aisle while reading the ingredients (probably celiac's ) and not noticing life around them...wake up!! _________________ Mike |

I luv this topic! I'm with ya on the peeps I work with leaving the work for me to do. I try my best to leave it laying for them to do, but always end up doing it anyway.
Oh yeah! This morning? there's like 2 inches of snow on my porch; all the schools around this county are having a 2 hour delay except us. Now I have already heard 3 sirens going off this mornin'. The snow is still comin down like crazy. I dunno but I am glad my kids don't ride the bus. I take em to school. I feel sorry for those poor kids that have to ride the bus with crazy bus drivers. |

The grocery store could be a whole topic by itself. A few of my favorites:
1. Kids running wild through the store with no parent in sight.
2. Canned tomato products being in about 15 different sections of the store. Same for canned beans.
3. Men (mostly) slamming their cart into the cart corral from about 30 feet away, as hard and fast as they can. Carts cost several hundred dollars apiece, and guess who pays for replacing broken ones? Yup, you and me in the cost of our groceries.
4.Employee smoking zones within feet of the entrance. My asthmatic lungs always appreciate that.
5. People using a quick checkout lane to buy 2 weeks worth of groceries.
6. Old ladies like the ones I encountered yesterday. I'm pushing my cart up to an open register. These two birds race around to the front (and I kid you not, they were flying), and start unloading their groceries onto the belt right in front of me. Two ladies, two orders. The clerk was as flabergasted as I was. To top it all off, when I got out to the parking lot, they were loading their orders into a car parked in the handicapped zone. Believe me, they were pretty spry when stealing my spot in line!
Non-grocery related, and these simply fall into the category of pet peeves, not frustrations.
1. Anniversary cards that say "Happy Anniversary to Both of You." Huh?? Doesn't that go without saying? Maybe cards that don't specify "both" are purchased by people who would like to say, but don't dare, "I hate your spouse, and can't imagine what you see in him/her, but I'm wishing you a happy day in spite of your poor decision and absolute lack of judgement."
2. I'm a tea drinker. Nothing puts me into orbit faster than when I am eating out and the wait staff brings DH endless refills on coffee and never offer me a refill. If they do think to offer, they invariably offer to freshen my cup with a little hot water. Would they offer to freshen a coffee drinker's cup with a little hot water??? _________________ Steph |

I would totally buy a card that said that.
Dear people who hypermile in the left lane,
I see what you did there. I hope your 20mph car gets 5mpg. Oh, and don't do it during morning rush hour on a busy highway. I will flatten you with my huge, gas-loving SUV* and not feel guilty.
* It actually gets pretty good gas mileage. Plus DH has a tiny car that gets 30mpg, and my scoot gets around 65mpg. I figure the gas karma evens out. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

Hey Steph,
Maybe you should take a few tea bags with ya when you go and if they don't give you a refill, have a little boston tea party. j/k |

Blocked aisles are a pet peeve of mine, especially when the blockage is due to someone chatting away on a cell phone with no awareness that there are people around them.
It's even weirder when the conversations are very private. I do not need to know the intimate details of a stranger's custody battle with their crazy ex or private medical test results.
And why are these conversations so often loud? Some people will talk in public on a cell phone much louder than they would ever talk to a friend standing next to them.
My most annoying ever cell phone/aisle blockage experience was when a woman not only blocked the aisle where I was, she gave me a dirty look and said to the person on the other end of the phone: "I will have to call you back. There is no PRIVACY here." Hey lady, I'm sorry my family friend died and that I needed to be in the sympathy card aisle. Want privacy? Try the wrapping paper aisle. |
