Kristie...maybe you can update your source on the GF status of Kelloggs Corn Flakes.

Oh, I have for sure. I don't want anyone else to suffer unnesessarily.

When we picked up the Nature's Path Corn Flakes, I said, "here, buddy, you can have these." He screamed out with joy (quite loudly) "YAY!!, these don't have gluten in them and won't make me sick!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU MOMMY!" talk about an heart tugging moment.

Kristie,

This is a perfect example of "Finding & Embracing the Positives" of this disease that I'm usually yapping about. I'm sure many people think that I am nuts for saying that good things come from this (or any bad situation). But I maintain that if we really look...we will find GOOD. It's those visible good moments that carry us thru when we're having trouble finding them or they haven't been made apparent yet.

Now tell me...would someone that does not have issues as Matthew...ever do that? Get so excited about getting a box of cereal? I doubt it. Most kids (and "big kids") take that stuff for granted. We don't have that luxury. We have to take our own food most places (hehehe that TOO has its benefits Wink)

So...grab joy & happiness when & where ever you can!!!

Thanks for sharing!! I bet Mom felt really good about that Smile Way to go Kristie!!

Yes, there are positives to this. I must agree. Sure I get irritated when I can't eat the pizza my friends are having that smells SOOO good or I can't just eat out spontaniously, but you'll find what you look for and I don't look for the bad end of it.
I think the best thing for me is getting to help out the newbies. I remember how frustrating and overwhelming it was at first, so now every time I hear of someone newly dxed in my area, I contact them and give them info and drag them to the next support meeting in Charlotte if they want to come.
It also helps at work. I work at a pet store and I am sorta the go-to person when people have questions about food allergies. I know more than our vets about where the ingredients on the labels come from. I can't count the number of food allergies I've isolated that even the vets couldn't determine - Now I wouldn't be able to do that if I didn't have Celiac and didn't HAVE to know a lot of that stuff.
Those are just two of the things that actually make me glad to have been diagnosed with "this horrible disease that chains me down to such a restrictive diet." Experience is subjective, and I choose to subject myself to more positive stuff than negative stuff. I don't try to ignore the bad things about it or pretend they don't exist, I just don't put as much emphasis on that. I choose to enjoy it rather than hate my life.

Are Kelloggs Corn Flakes GF and WF? I have been buying the expensive
brands that are marked as such.

Thank you.

No, They are not GF... My son found out the hard way last weekend. Nature's Path Corn Flakes is what we just picked a couple of days ago, and they are GF.
Hope that helps.
