Got an interesting email this morning:

Glutenfreeda wrote:
We are excited to announce 2 new product lines from Glutenfreeda Foods: Glutenfreeda’s Burritos (yes, you heard right!), and Glutenfreeda’s Instant Oatmeal!

Glutenfreeda’s Burritos are the very first frozen, single serving gluten-free burrito. Our burritos are made from all natural and organic ingredients, have no GMO’s, no hormones, no trans fats and no hydrogenated oils. This is the perfect breakfast, snack or lunch for anyone on the go or even a perfect solution for kid’s lunches. And as with all of our products, these hand-rolled delicious burritos are authentic in taste and ready to eat in minutes! Available in 4 flavors: Breakfast Beef, Vegetarian & Dairy Free, Vegetarian Bean & Cheese and Chicken & Cheese.

Glutenfreeda’s Instant Oatmeal is another first! Our flavored instant oatmeal is made from certified gluten-free oats and is flavored with organic maple sugar and fruit. In addition, we’ve fortified our instant oatmeal with flax to add even more nutritional content – making this the perfect quick & easy and heart healthy breakfast. Each box of Glutenfreeda’s Instant Oatmeal contains 6 individual serving packets making it a great grab-n-go item. A great breakfast for busy mornings, travel, camps, or anytime. Available in 4 flavors: Maple Raisin, Banana Maple, Apple Cinnamon & Variety Pack.

And, of course, they pimped out their cookies.

They're tempting me with the instant oatmeal. Tricksy, tricksy Glutenfreedas. Has anybody tried their stuff? Specifically this stuff?

Edited to add: I can try to special order this stuff at my grocery store. The more stuff I order the cheaper it is. If anybody wants to try it let me know. I can order extra and ship it to you.

I got a sample of the Gluten Freeda oatmeal at the GIG conference. I tried it today. It was the banana maple with flax flavor. Overall, I have to say it was quite good. It was not as sticky sweet as the Quaker oatmeal packets that I remember, but I think that's good. The texture was pleasant, and the banana flavor was tasty.

Pretty pricy, though. Around $1/packet at the Gluten Free Mall. If I could find it locally, I would buy this occasionally, but it is too expensive to put in the normal breakfast rotation.

I purchased a case of the oatmeal from Amazon for $30.77. I got the variety pack, 8 cases with 6 pkgs per case so it works out to $0.65. I really liked the Apple Cinnamon and the Banana Maple. I was not crazy about the Maple Raisin, but I don't really like raisins, it didn't seem to have as much flavor as the others (could be because I was trying to ignore the raisin flavor Rolling Eyes ) so I added cinnamon.

I was able to make it easily with hot water from the water dispenser here at the office. Its about twice as much as "regular" instant oatmeal but cheaper than the clif nectar and lara bars I usually eat for a quick breakfast. I would recommend this highly for anyone who can tolerate gluten free oats. I was making oatmeal for awhile when I was trying to lower my cholesterol and it was such a hassle to do it at the office, that I had quit doing it. This is so much easier and has flavors!!!!

Each serving has only 2g of fat and 4g of fiber (they added flax meal) protein is 5-7g depending on the flavor.

I also purchased one of each of the burrito's but I haven't tried them yet.

I snagged one of these yesterday. It should show up in the middle of next week. I'll post my review ASAP.

I got home last night and my DS had eaten the chicken burrito Twisted Evil Twisted Evil He says it was good, so since he is the picky, pursnikity one in the family they must be pretty good. Shocked Shocked When I asked why he would eat MY expensive burrito when the 99 cent, twice the size - gluteny ones sat in the freezer forever, he told me I had never bought burrito's before. Fortunately the rest of the family remembers them being there so he couldn't chock it up to Mom's sometimers disease. I LOVE children.

Hope you like the oatmeal Os, I have been really pleased with it.

I finally got the chance to try these over the weekend. I started with the raisin and maple syrup flavor. Other than having raisins (which I picked out) it was quite good! Colleen is right: it's not as sticky sweet as Quaker Oats. I added a tiny bit of pure maple syrup to mine and it was perfect.
