Have you called your physician who performed the exam about the pain? Did they give you a sheet of follow-up instructions after your procedure? I really think your question would be best answered by a qualified physician. _________________ Steph |

Hi Fra,
Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. It's been 6 years since mine so my memory of it might be a bit fuzzy...but I don't remember having any kind of pain afterwards. Might it be pain from the ulcers?
I agree with Steph, contacting your Gastro that did the procedure would be best.
Hope you feel better soon! Did they test for CD? _________________ Al

I remember having pain in the gut area, but I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy and they removed 7 polyps during the colonoscopy. When I called, they said it was normal, and to call back if it got a lot worse.
I would recommend calling though. At least you can get a good medical opinion, and they can tell you how much pain is normal. If there is something wrong, it's better to find out sooner rather than later.
Good luck. |

Hi,
Glad to hear the pain has let up some. Normally, they start with bloodwork. If that's positive, they'll do an endoscopy [an EGD - a tube down the throat] to obtain samples from your small intestine.
Our Thread on Celiac Blood Tests & More Diagnostic Info
I'm guessing you didn't ask them to check for CD when they did the EGD to diagnose your ulcer? As long as they were down there, they could of grabbed a bunch. IMHO, they should check anyone that has an EGD [but I know that's not realistic ]. _________________ Al
