| I enjoy the breads by a company called Glutino. They are out of Canada and have a website glutino.com. They use corn flour in their wide assortment breads and rolls. Their rasin bread, pizza shell/bread and white bread are all very good. |

There is a Whole Foods Market about 30 minutes from here. I'm going to take a trip this morning and hopefully purchase all the ingredients so I don't have to wait for an order to ship before Thanksgiving.
Our 2 biggest supermarket chains have started to carry Bob's Red Mill. I have not tried his GF items yet, but did make the Irish Soda Bread for my husband and he liked it.
Thanks for that Eating gluten free website also. I kind of feel like I'm floundering around with all this baking stuff and I don't know how to solve the problems I'm having. I usually am a pretty good baker but this is like starting all over and very frustrating. |
As you can see - it's still is a bit confusing for us that's been doing it for 1.5 years I should've left well enough alone...Sorry for the confussion
Hang in there with the baking - it is different - Peg says If you have any other questions don't be afraid to ask!! We'll see if we can confuse you some more LOL!!!!!!!
Good luck with the bread. You are a good Mother!! I'm sure your daughter will be VERY thankful to have bread this year. I had the last of my loaf yesterday Peg said she'd make me another _________________ Al

Well, after searching for ingredients for days, the bread is rising in the oven right now!
Have all fingers and toes crossed that this comes out! |

It's done! It smells good but I think the pans I used were too big. It is only about an inch and a half high or so and the texture is kind of spongy. We are redoing are kitchen and I have most of my pans packed away so I had to buy the disposable ones. And I think my mixer is not powerful enough or maybe I should have gone longer than 5 minutes or let it rise more.
The taste test was so so. GF daughter and her older sister said taste was okay but texture was too spongy. My youngest daughter loved it of course!
I'm glad I tried and will make adjustments the next time. I guess it's just trial and error, but I think I can get it to come out right eventually.
Thanks so much for the recipe and your encouragement. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! |

Glad to hear that your daughter liked it.
Yes GF baking does take some experimenting (or so I'm told I cook - not bake ) So keep at it!!! _________________ Al

I don't think so Sorry. Unless it's made with GF flours. _________________ Al

Hi everyone,
I'm very new at all this and have only been GF for 3 weeks. It's been REALLY hard but I am so excited to have found a delicious product, I had to share it with you. It's made by Gillian's and it's Cinnamon/Raisin Buns. They are in the freezer section (I got mine at Shaws) and you just microwave one for about a minute and it's awesome with GF cream cheese! They aren't super crumbly either!
Enjoy!
