Hi Annette,

I'm sorry to hear about all of your troubles. What a drag!

About a year after I went GF I started feeling crappy again. I started a food/symptom journal, and immediately identified several foods that were causing me trouble (dairy, soy, nightshades, beans, corn) , and cut them out. I had IgG allergy testing done for several foods, and upon receiving results, cut out a couple more.
About 2 months after that I realized that I was having issues with all the grains - not just gluten grains, and in addition to rice, to which I had a positive IgG result.
Since then I've used probiotics daily, digestive enzymes often, and carefully avoided foods I know I will react to. I'm way more sensitive and have more intense reactions to these foods, in the event (rare) that I take a chance on some GF grain or a little soy. In general I am 1000% better than I was before I started eliminating foods, however, I don't know if I'll ever be back to "normal".

In your case, with continuing issues, more reactive foods, and certainly, the kinds of symptoms you are experiencing, you should consider:
1. Don't buy or eat anything out of bulk bins. I've yet to see a bulk bin where the GF status was confirmed.
2. Start a food/symptom journal. Avoid those foods you KNOW cause reactions. Be as careful of cross-contamination of those foods as you are with gluten foods.
3. If you are having mouth/tongue swelling and difficulty breathing, this may be indicative of IgE allergies, which can be quite dangerous. You need further testing and medical assistance.
4. Leaky gut - there is more to this then I have the time to write. Check into it.

You said in a previous post that you wash the pan in which you cook Grandma's oats. Are you using separate cookware for GF foods? This is vital.

I get the burning tongue problem from tapioca. It is something I
avoid completely. I make grain items from scratch. I just thought
I would mention it in case you have the same thing but hadn't
identified it yet.
