We are heading to Vegas this weekend - first time for me! - to see the U2 concert and the Beatles "Love" Cirque du Soleil show. I booked a "suites-syle" hotel right around the corner from Trader Joe's in Henderson, so we would have a kitchen and good grocery resources nearby. I'm not going to gamble so staying on/near the strip holds no appeal to me. My geeky side really wants to tour the Hoover Dam and the neon sign graveyard.
I've found lots of info online about GF-capable restaurants (and there are many), though I think we'll only eat out maybe once or twice due to my multiple intolerances and paranoia. Maybe we'll do PF Chang's or a high end steak house (depending on $$$). I'd really like to eat out because that is one thing I really miss doing with my husband. This is our first trip without kids in over 4 years, so it's a big deal!
Does anyone have any tried-and-true, trusted places to eat in Vegas? _________________ Nance

No suggestions for ya, sorry. Never been to Vegas.
Sounds like a really great time tho. Neon sign graveyard sounds really cool!
Have fun! _________________ Al

Wow - I'm really happy! We had a great trip to Vegas, and I feel good!
We hit a Whole Foods right before closing time on our way from airport to hotel. We bought most everything we needed for the weekend in a few minutes. DH ate breakfast in the hotel, but I had fruit, some Chebe wraps, nut butters and squash bread I brought with me. We ate out last night at Kokomo at the Mirage. It's a steakhouse, so hard to mess up, but I was as firm with the waiter as I dared, and had checked in with chef earlier in the day. I had an awesome filet with a cabernet reduction sauce, and home made steak fries. It felt really weird to sit in a restaurant and eat; it was only the 2nd time this year I've done so.
The U2 concert was excellent, and the Cirque du Soleil / Beatles show "Love" was dizzying and gorgeous. The Strip is insane on a Saturday, but the view from the top of the Stratosphere was really cool, as was the people watching, and checking out the Hoover Dam.
Ah, from 75 and sunny to 30 and snowing in an hour and a half. Vacation officially OVER. _________________ Nance

I have actually found some confidence with travelling now, much to my husband's (and my) delight. As long as there is a health foods store nearby I'm good! _________________ Nance
