This may have already been added to the board, but since I've only been here a short time, I thought I post it. I bought my husband a new (for him) GF pasta yesterday Its by Bionaturae and its rice, potato and soy. I bought the penne rigate style and it was really good considering its wheat free. Hubby thought it was a bit chewy, but overall GOOD. I may try cooking it for just a bit longer next time. I kept a close watch on it as rice pasta (as I'm sure you all know) turns mushy if you cook it too long. Hope this helps someone!

Hey Jude Wink

Thanks for the review. I have a bag of this sitting in my cupboard. A friend bought if for me. I have not tried it yet.

My favs are:

Tinkyada Brown Rice Pasta: Rottini & Fettecinni - . We use the Rotini in cold "pasta" salads. It holds up really really well! Even Peg likes it! (she's really fussy with some of my GF stuff).

Bi-Aglut Spaghetti - This has the taste & texture of real spaghetti. Very hard to tell the difference! It's also very expensive. But worth it once in awhile Smile

Bi-Aglut Penne - Again...very good taste & texture.

Best cooking time for the Bi-Aglut pasta is 6 min. I like mine a bit aldente' (hard). You must stand and watch it. I am tasting it all along the way.

I can't say what the best cooking time is for the Tinky - I think it's a bit less than 6 min.

One tip on GF pastas...use lots of water! I also rinse it in cold water to stop the cooking process. This will help with the mush factor. I also will drizzle some olive oil in it right after I've drained it and mix it in. I think this helps with sticking & clumping of the leftovers the next time I use it (if it doesn't - heck it tastes good anyway LOL).

I remember the 1 time I did GF pasta...ewwww...what a pile of mush. I cooked it toooooo loooong Sad. It was a rice pasta, I can't even remember the name of it. Then I tried a corn pasta - texture was fine, but the taste wasn't there.

Now take a sad pasta, and make it better. Remember to let her under you skin, so you can begin...to make it better...better...better! Very Happy

A friend of mine's daughter has had celiac since a baby and their favorite is Quinoa pasta. I have seen this in my local grocery stores' health food sections, but have not tried it.
It seems to be widely available...

I have tried the Quinoa pasta and it is great. My husband ordered a case for me! The twists and spaghetti are pretty good, but the linguine is by far the best. Finally I can make linguine and clam sauce again. You can find it at http://www.quinoa.bigstep.com or I have found it on occasion at Whole Foods. If you try it, I'd be interested to know what you think.

Chuckling at Al's Hey Jude reference! Emily and I love the Tinkyada spaghetti and elbows - the closest taste to real pasta we've found so far. My Son gave it the seal of approval when he said "it doesn't suck"! One thing we've found, the elbows, when used in macaroni salad, tend to firm up a bit too much for our taste when eaten as leftovers the next day. Happy eating all! Very Happy

Lundberg has come out with a brown rice spaghetti pasta and it's excellent too! Looks like everyone is jumping on the band wagon!
