They want to go into the mouth and BM and wanted me to go off a GF diet. I said hell no! I know I have this and I am a celiac. I go for a new knee in Jan. They wanted to do it in Feb. I said March. Not off the diet for a week. I would die. Really. Does anyone else have this problem?
I think it is too soon to go through all this and being put under twice.
I meen once for my knee and then for the out patient? Let me know what you think? Thank you

They want to do an endoscopic biopsy with you off the diet? Right after a knee replacement? Question If you really wanted to do it I'd point out that you don't have to be sedated for an endoscopy (I've only been sedated for one of my many endoscopies and they were pulling out a biliary stent that time so I kinda did not want to be awake, if only so I did not have to taste it). But if you don't want to do it, don't do it. Very Happy

Glorya, I am confused. It sounds like from your post that your doctor wants you to do a gluten chellenge and then an endoscopy. Why? Are you continuing to have symptoms? In any event, one week on gluten is not nearly enough to get enough villi damage to show up. Why does he want you to do it in the first place? Did you have the biopsy when you were first diagnosed?
