That I too have celiac Disease or am gluten sensitive???
(for those of you who don't know me, I am a mother of a soon to be 3 yr old boy who we believe has CD and has been GF for the last year) I am not gf... as of right now.
We went out to eat Saturday night. I had TONS and TONS of breaded sweet and sour chicken and Mac and cheese. (not a normal diet for me at all) I felt great before going there, but not even 20 minutes after eating, I felt a sudden urge of the Big *D*, and did all night, although I wasn't able to Embarassed *feeling a tad shy* I'll skip further details other than to say, I had MAJOR low cramping all that night and the complete day yesterday, cramping so bad it was in my hips and lower back. Today it's moved further up to my stomach, but I am just plain miserable!!! I know I said I wouldn't get into further detail, but I should say, I was able to go today, but it wasn't the big *d*. I was rather constipated,... I have had problems with that my whole life, but don't ususally feel like I have the last 3 days, in fact, I don't remember hurting this way in the past.
These are most unlike Matthew's symptoms... but i have read other posts... could I be having a gluten reaction?
I don't currently have a doctor, I plan on going to a prompt care tomorrow in hopes that they will run a celiac blood panel on me.. I'm hoping they will based on matthew's history.
I just hope the pain stops soon.... I cared for 5 children here today, and I was sure each movement was going to kill me. Crying or Very sad

Hi Kristie,

Sorry to hear you're under the weather Sad

It certainly is possible that it's a gluten reaction. Particularly if you said you've had gastro issues for quite sometime. Or maybe it's just a bug going around.

Everybody can present different symptoms with this...that's why it's hard to figure out what's going on.

I guess keep an eye on it...you could always eat the same thing as Matthew for a few days and see if you feel better Smile Peg does that...when ever her stomach is off - she'll eat the same as me for a day or two. She says it helps. I keep telling her she has gluten issues too (based on her "bathroom history"), but then again...I think most people do! LOL!!!

I don't know how much luck you will have with them on running a Celiac Panel...they get kinda bucky about patients asking for test to be run (at least they do in my docs office Wink) Give it a shot tho!

I hope you feel better! Did hubby have to man the 2 year olds? hehehehe

I have another reply started, I haven't felt well enough to finish it yet, but I will get to it as soon as I can) In short, I want so badly to try going GF and see how it goes.. I'll send the longer post when I can.

No.. he says that they didn't ask him, but I suspect that he snuck into the sanctuary before they had a chance. Rolling Eyes hehehe... can't really blame him.. they can be a handful.. Smile

Thanks for the well wishes!

We all realize there is a genetic link. If your child has it there is a good chance it comes through your genetic link. I always assumed I was either a symptomatic or a carrier because of a high occurance of irritable bowel synd. on my dad's side. I recently found out my husband's cousin has a little one with it also. Now I wonder if my husband's brother also has it. He is markedly shorter than the other men in the family and extremely obese. Has been since infancy, many test have been run, he has sensitivities to foods, etc. I know obesity is rare but not unheard of.HMM? I think I am getting off topic. My point was supposd to be short---yes you could very well have it too.
