I've been away from everything the past few days. Upset with aunt who calls me and tells me all my salvia tests are full of garbage
She is a doctor in London, I mailed her all my tests
Anyways, since no one in the family believes the salvia test. went to see the colon specialist, he doesn't believe in it either. so, he wants me to do blood work to check if I really have gluten allergy.. I hear that blood work might not show the allergy if it's at low level. is this true?

He wants me to eat food that contains gluten, wheat for the next 2 weeks and have my blood work done

Hi Sara,

I can't say I know much about the saliva tests either. I agree the blood work would be the next step. Are they perfect? NO. You do have to be consuming gluten like he said. Usually a Gluten Challenge (GC) consists of about 35g of gluten (about a bagel) per day for 6 weeks. I've seen different lengths of times...but it's several weeks.

Yes it's possible for you to test negitive. I've seen it quite a bit. I tested negative on blood work but I was GF already. A doc ran one test w/o telling me. I saw it when I got a copy of my labs. I started a GC but called it off after 5 days...I started to feel awful again and didnt want to go back there.

If the blood tests don't give you a definitive answers...there is always www.enterolab.com for the stool test. Many have been dx'ed thru them. Be warned: Dr. Fine is not well accepted in the mainstream medical field yet! In time I believe he will be.

Here is some more info on the bloodwork and diagnostic testing:

Good luck Sara!! Let us know how things go!!

Thanks for the info guys Smile
The blood work that the colon specialist wants me to get is H. pylori IgG, Abs

Celiac spure panel
serum giardia AB

My lab test in on the 30'th of this month, and I'm still not eating alot of oats to get my allergy back for the blood work

This doctor is not open minded like my natropathic doctor
