| I checked out their website and their stuff sounds good--but I'd have to be profoundly desperate to pay $15 for cookies! Does anyone else feel like they're being taken advantage of because of their health needs? A little more expense for specialty items is one thing--but price gouging is not acceptable. Anybody else want to join my rant, or am I being unreasonable? |

I want to join in. you are not being unreasonable at all. I feel the same way you do. I would not pay that much for 15 cookies even if i had the money to spare. as soon as I saw their prices I clicked off of it.

Ditto..... I did the same thing. $15. for cookies when I can make my own that my family and friends can't tell the difference. I wondered what are they thinking!!! They sure won't get my business. I have wondered with more people having to watch G will prices go down and more people need products or will these same people just get richer.
So much for my gripe added

Way too expensive. I've always felt that the manufacturers take advantage of anyone with a food issue. I bought GF cereal for hubby yesterday that was actually on SALE!! Imagine? it was originally $4.29 marked down to $2.99. I bought 4 boxes because its absolutely NEVER on sale. _________________ Judy

As a food service professional, it really makes me mad when I see businesses take advantage of the disabilities of others.
I'd love to see the price list for their suppliers as I can guarantee that their cost isn't high enough to justify the price of the resulting product. As for the cost of any related overhead... I doubt very seriously they even have the business demands to require it.
Generally with food service, you see just pennies on the dollar for profit. It's nuts to expect high margin products to net you any profit at all, even with low overhead costs. |

When I went in last week to buy my pretzels and saw it was $1.79 for a small 2.5 oz bag I almost decided to wait until I went to my normal health food store as I usually by a dozen bags at a time for only $1.69. Ten cents shouldn't be a big deal but I usually buy about $40-$50 worth of GF stuff when I go to the city. Out of curiosity I asked the manager what it cost him for a bag of pretzels and he brought out his book and showed me $1.22 so that is a mark up of .57. Do you think that is a fair price?
On a whole I find I save more just ordering on the internet but one does have to take into consideration of postage. Since I don't live in a place where I can get many products I have to order most of my things, and most times save.
