Just got back from my 2 weeks in Florida and had a wonderful time!
Thinking it might be a tough time trying to find good places to eat, I was wrong.
Disney! What can I say besides I feel as though I was the King.
Each place we went to, accomodated to my every need. It was awesome. Let me suggest a few places.
MGM - The Brown Derby & 50's Prime Time Cafe
Epcot- Italy, Alfredo's, Mexico- Saint Angels Inn
Swan Hotel - Shula's (real expensive but great to be pampered).
Port Orleans Hotel (French Quarter), Breakfasts were great!
Each place we went to I asked for either the Manager or Chef and they came out to me and laid out the menu I can have.
Ok here are other places we went to on our Vacation.
Fort Myers - Rib City and Sunflower Cafe, Great meals and Sympathetic.
Sanibel Island - Cheeburger, Cheeburger. Excellent! The waitress Amber (Great personality, Beautiful, Intelligent, Young and Single. Wish I was single again lol) did an excellent job. The burger came out on the bun and she took it and sent it back before it left the kitchen and reminded the Chef about my allergy.
Matzaluna - Great italian food.
Well my time worrying about if I can eat out or not is over! You can pretty much go anywhere and they will do their best to take care of you.

Hey Fireman Steve,
Glad to hear you had a great vacation!
I think we all need to make a pilgrimage to the land of GF Bliss hehehehe
I was telling Kristi that I haven't been back there since I've been GF. _________________ Al

Looks like I will be hitting all different restraunts than you did!
I have PS's at Whispering Canyon Cafe where the chef said he will have GF rolls and GF cornbread as well as a GF dessert!
Liberty Tree Tavern which is a character dinner, served family style turkey with all the fixins including GF stuffing and gravy! As well as Rice Dreams ice cream for those of us who are GF and DF!
Hollywood and Vine for the dinner buffet, where they said they have 2-3 GF meals a day and will make us a dessert!
And Teppanyaki in Japan! All simple meats and veggies grilled, you eat seated around the grill! I am super excited about this one! I was also told that in America (Liberty Inn) they have GF pizza!!!
We are staying at Shades of Green, so we aren't sure how breakfast will go, but since we are driving I will be bringing a box of corn flakes and stopping at the store to buy lactaid milk to be on the safe side. They have a breakfast buffet, but because they are owned and operated by the Army and the Department of Defense they may or may not be able to accomadate our dietary needs.
Glad you had fun! We will be gone for about 4-6 weeks (only a week in Disney though)! |

I went to Disneyland in Anaheim for the day and got the same amazing treatment at the Blue Bayou restaraunt. The chef came out, told me what I could and couldn't have, and prepared my food separately to avoid cross-contaminaton. She gave me her card and said to call ahead if I was coming to Disney again so that she could prepare something better seasoned! (A lot of the gravies and so forth had gluten.) I go at least yearly, so I'll probably take her up on it. _________________ ElaineT

Can I get the chef's number from you?? We're going to Disneyland in Anaheim the 12th of May & would love to have dinner at the Blue Bayou! Me & my son are celiacs.
Great posts as I was wondering if Disney is good about GF.
Thank you!!

The chef I met was Janine Ruozi. Her phone there is (714) 781-4940. She said to call first thing in the morning so that she could have time to prepare something, and she really understands GF. You also need to make reservations at the Blue Bayou so I do that as soon as I arrive at the park.
Hope you enjoy your trip! _________________ ElaineT
