Hi Guys. I have now been diagnosed as allergic to soy.
Whats the trick? Words to look for? How important is it to avoid "soy lecithin"?
I bought a rice protien powder today, when I called the manufacturer, they said the vitamin E was derived from a soy source, but the label did not say "contains soy." How safe is this to eat? Is ANY vitamin E supplement safe to use?
What else should I know?
Thanks.
-I'm allergic to gluten, dairy, eggs, garlic, nightshades, and soy |

I am not sure if this is a complete list. YOu might be able to find a forum on soy allergies to add to your knowledge.
Here is one source I found http://www.ehow.com/how_3966_live-with-allergy.html
We avoid soy sauce because MrP reacts. So far Soy lecithen doesn't bother him in small amounts. I use either coke or root beer to flavor the meat for Chinesse dishes. _________________

Thanks for the link.
I'm finding mixed info about soy oil. According to the research, the allergy is to the protein, which is different than the oil (kind of lik a casein allergy versus a lactose allergy). I realized that soy oil is in vitamin E, capsulated fish oil, and vitamin D, all of which I was taking.
Is soy a 0 tolerance policy like gluten, or is the oil safe?
Thanks. |
