I just spoke with Kathy at Penzey's. I wanted to update our knowledge of this company.
All of their spices & spice blends are gluten free.
The only things that could contain gluten are their soup bases [their beef does indeed, I saw it over the weekend]. I asked about mfg those products and their blends - the soup bases are made for them in another facility. It's my understanding that there is no gluten in the Penzey's plant where the spices are done.
Kathy also mentioned their catalog will list all the ingredients for the product.
They will also label barley, rye and oats if it's used in the product. _________________ Al

So many things to love at Penzey's! My latest infatuation is Black and Red.
Good to know that the taco seasoning is now GF. Although I normally just put a bit of cumin, chili powder, hit of garlic powder and cayenne and finish it off with S&P and call it tacos, but maybe... |

I almost exclusively use Penzy's. They really have the best spices. Plus you can buy bulk refills so you don't break the bank every time you run out of something.
I pretty much sprinkle a dash of their pumpkin pie spice in my coffee every morning. Good stuff! _________________ Cheers!

When I measured out five different spices for my pumpkin bread last week I decided that I should buy some pumpkin pie spice. Glad to hear it's good stuff!
My Penzey's doesn't sell bulk refills. Are referring to the spices in the bags? |

Oh sorry... yes. Referring to the spices in the bags as the bulk refills, which is better then bins and what-not where oxygen can make them go stale and other things can fall into them. _________________ Cheers!
