|
|
We are huge fresh pineapple hounds around this house. It helps [an anti-inflammatory] for Peg's joint and muscle tissue issues...plus it's just darn good eats!
It always bothers me to throw away the center core, so one day I had an idea. I decided to get out a sealable pitcher, toss in the pineapple core and fill it with OJ. Poof - instant Orange-Pineapple juice. It doesn't have a huge pineapple taste, but it's something a bit different than just plain OJ. _________________ Al

No attempts at making pineapple liqueur?
I had a friend try that with bananas. Put a few too many in and ended up with something close to banana extract. _________________ Lauren

Why not? I'm sure you could put pineapple extract in all sorts of things.

That's next on my project list. I have just enough space left on my deck [right next to my Weber Genesis Grill] to set up my still Guess what my assistant Peg gets to dress up as. _________________ Al

I. Want. Pictures. Of. This. I will pay you for said pictures.
Off-topic: Did you know that show's still on TV? We were waiting for the Olympics to start up again (after the news). So the local news finishes, and were thinking it'd switch over to something like Wheel of Fortune. BAM! Beakman's World. DH and I had to pick our jaws off the floor.
Nothing compares to Mr. Wizard. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

I stumbled across Bekman's world recently while flipping through the channels. It's like heroin - sucked me right in, and I couldn't stop watching it. I used to love that show. _________________ -Colleen

Wow Peg! Nice tat on the left arm! Couldn't see that in the avatar!
Seriously, does the fresh pineapple really help with the joint and muscle pain enough to notice a difference? _________________ Steph |

? about the bananas. How long did you leave the banana in the vodka? I have wanted to add a couple or cherries to vodka to flavor it for MrP. He can't eat fruits because of the salacylates. I want to make some agar agar based gelatin for him and thought about the flavoring I might be able to use. I figured 1 or 2 of the cherries, might not cause too much of a problem for him to a bottle of the vodka.
Alton Brown spoke about how to make coconut extract and I went off on a thinking spree............so that explains that smoke smell you have been smelling. _________________
