Can anyone tell me where I can find a gluten free dog food? I have two small dogs at home, and have gotten glutened from thier kisses either on my face or my husbands. I love my puppies, but I am desperate to find a food that is gluten free, so I am not glutened again!

Thanks!

Skye, I have 2 different brands that I use that are wheat and corn free, but they do have barley.

I do not know if this will make you as sick or not from their kisses, but my husband has such a bad reaction to corn, that this has been the best that I have found.

If you think that it will do for you, I will go and get the names for you.

I use Bil-Jac for the dogs and Eukanuba for the cats. Neither one says it is gluten-free, but there is no wheat, barley, rye or oats listed in the ingredients. I think they like the fact that I'm not as afraid of touching them now.

It may also sound gross, but the dogs poop mostly disappears on its own, so it's less to clean up. They also go less in the first place, which is good in and of itself.

I really appreciate both of your posts. I am sure that you understand how frusterating this all can be. I have kept getting sick and recently realized there was wheat in the hand lotion I just bought from Victoria Secrets Sad , and now I also realize that there is wheat and gluten in our dog food as well! Go figure!

I am pretty sensitive to barley as well, which is what has made this so difficult. I will have to look at the Eukanuba at our local pet store! Thanks so much to both of you!

I found the ingredient lists for Bil Jac dog food, it says that it contains dried brewers yeast, I know that brewers yeast can be made from gluten, I was wondering if you have had any problems with this in the Bil Jac dog food that you use?

I am not sure how big of a problem it would be, I know that you said that you are using it, so you are probably fine with it, but just curious?

I haven't had a problem with it, and I've even been known to forget to wash my hands after feeding the pets and then eating myself which I never would have done before (think ocd scrubbing of the hands before). I don't recall seeing brewers yeast as the ingredients in their food, but I will definitely check it. I spoke with one of their representatives at Petsmart one day, and she knew exactly what I was talking about when I referred to gluten, and from what I remember, she said only some of their treats contain gluten. I will definitely double check as I know sometimes people can be misinformed.

If you want something low ingredient, I'd suggest california natural. I mentioned it in the other thread. No corn either.

I also found a brand of grain free pet food I might not have mentioned in the other thread called taste of the wild. It's probably what I'll end up feeding my boyfriend's cat.
