I was just browsing through the symptom list that Al bumped and remembering how many symptoms I used to have before GF. It's funny how sometimes you forget how crappy you used to feel! Looking at that list certainly makes me appreciate my health now!!

Anyway, my question is about Sjogren's. I know this syndrome is very extreme, well at least from what I've read about it. I have some milder symptoms of Sjogren's and I'm not sure if one starts out with mild symptoms and then it gradually gets worse, or if I just am experiencing some milder random symptoms. When I was the sickest before going GF, I used to need to carry water with me at all times, even 30 minutes of not drinking something would cause extreme thirst and dryness. Even now, a year after going GF, I still feel like I get abnormally thirsty and dry. I am constantly drinking water and constantly thirsty. When I do drink water, for a short time, my dryness goes away, until I become thirsty again. Soemtimes when I don't have water, I chew gum which helps with the dryness. Do people with Sjogren's find any relief from drinking water/chewing gum? My guess is no because it's not about proper hydration, right?

Also, my eyes are not so extreme, but do get dry by the end of the day. I wear contacts, so that could just be because of that. I'm not too worried about my eyes, as I don't think them getting dry is anything excessive or abnormal. My main problem is with my mouth dryness and always needing a drink. Does this sound like anything anyone has experienced? My ravenous hunger I experienced before going GF has definitely stopped, but for some reason, I still experience excessive thirst and mouth dryness.

Hi CG,

Have you looked into diabetes insipidus?

Running short of time...
