I'm wondering about these as convenient "grab-n-go" things. Anyone tried them?
I'm not near a Costco but a fmaily member could grab some for me before tey come to visit so I was considering it.
As I set up this thread however, I found this in the product info:
"The food in ExploreMunch, SafariMunch and SportsMunch ready-to-eat meals does not contain wheat, rye or barley ingredients and is suitable for gluten-free dietary requirements. Each food item is individually wrapped and labeled with its ingredients. Some food items are manufactured in facilities that also process wheat and are labeled as such."
Underlining is mine. those turkeys...

Here is where you have to assess your own sensitivity as well as investigate the practices of the company involved. Remember that unless your home is gluten free, your home is a facility that also processes wheat. Shocked Confused

Some companies have facilities where things are really well separated and cc is a non-issue for almost everyone. We could be talking about opposite ends of a building that is a quarter of a mile long. Or done on different floors on different days. Or . . . .

Some places might do such a good job of cleaning that stuff processed on the same equipment can be OK.

Some companies, such as Frito-Lay, don't do such a great job of cleaning things off between product runs. You might eat 10 or 20 bags of chips without any problems and then you get a bag full of product that was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and "gotcha."

Some people have not had any problems with Frito-Lay but I won't buy their products again.

You learn which companies you can trust and which ones you need to avoid.

A phone call to the GoPicnic people might help you make up your mind.

I got one of these at the GIG conference and Sean took it to a field trip during the last week of school. It was a really special experience to be able to send him to school with something like the other kids were eating. There's even a temporary tatto and ultra cool colapsable fork in the box. Very Happy Sean is not generally one to "gush" about his food, but he could not stop talking about how great this was, and how cool his friends thought it was. I would buy these again, not for every day lunches, but for traveling and field trips.

They are now available at Costco online, at a price a lot lower than on the Gopicnic site.
