Has anybody tried visceral massage? This last month I don't know what is going on, but I have had the return of the GERD (acid reflux) stuff back. Maybe I was glutened by something. But monday I am trying some visceral massage, supposed to adjust a hiatel hernia, in other words I believe it lowers the protrusion (LES) so you don't have the reflux through the LES (Lower esophogil sphincter)..at this point I'll give anything a try. I had a job i have been doing that I didn't like which caused alot of stress, so I am thinking it could have kicked the GERD in. You all know stress can do a number on you if not controled. I have read some stuff on candida and how that can do a number on you. Has anybody had a candida problem that caused GI stuff to happen? I know the diet you have to go on is not the greatest but you have to do it to get rid of the yeast. I had the endoscopy last week, now I wait for results. Thanks TJ

Is this just since you've gotten pregnant? I'm guessing you're a gal and that's a pic of hubby? Or you're the guy, and not pregnant, and just discussing this on the pregnancy board . . . Help me!

Anyway, have a friend who had a candida problem, and did the diet (rather like Atkins), and got better and stayed better. Google it and read the symptoms, and see if you think it might be a problem for you?

professor; How did I get into the pregnancy board. I typed in new topic. what the heck...Candida can cause alot of GI problems regardless of Male/female. Accordiong to my research Candida albnicans can mimic more diseases if it gets hold of your system. It is still part of a normal intestinal flora and we normally house small amounts of it in our intestines, if the balance between candida and the other bugs in the gut is tipped, candida will grow rampantly, which produce over 150 symptoms, beginning with GI problems. One of the most common ways to tip the delicate balance is by taking antibiotics that kill off hundreds of types of bactereria but not yeasts. With no compitition in the GI trac candida yeasty will grow wildly and take control of the gut. Once it takes over, it inflames the gut wall providing much of the gas, bloating, indigestion, alternating diarrhea and constipation , or pain that you may suffer. If the yeast inflames the lower esophagus or stomach, you have burning and heartburn. If the lining of lthe small intestine is inflamed, carrier or transport, proteins are damaged, making it more difficult for the gut to absorb vitamins and minerals, causing fatigue. In my case I had been on predisone about 3 times & antibiotics once, all of which can tip that balance. So if you are on antibiotics thats why alot of integrative docs will tell you to take a good probiotic or acidiphilous. Also for additional symptoms candidiasis can affect different parts of the body, the most common being the mouth, ears, nose, toenails (toe nail fungus) fingernails, gastrointestinal tract, and vagina; it's symptoms can range from constipation, diarrhea, colitis, abdominal pain, headaches, bad breath, rectal itching, impotence, memory loss, mood swings, prostatitis, canker sores, persistent heartburn, muscle and joint pain, sore throat, congestion, nagging cough, numbness in the face or extremities, tingling sensations, acne, night sweats, severe itching, clogged sinuses, PMS, burning tongue, white spots on the tongue and in the mouth, extreme fatigue, vaginitis, kidnesy and bladder infections, arthritis, depression, hypothyroidism, and hyperactivity. Symptoms are worse after con- sumption of foods containing sugar and or yeast. Because the symptoms are so varied it is often misdiagnosed. You have to have a stool sample test for it from your practitioner. So as you can see along with everything else that can go wrong with the body, let's through candidas into the mix for something else to consider. I guess to strive for optimum health one has to consider everything. It's a process of elimination i guess. Sorry again for getting into the pregnancy forum part...I hope this makes things a little clearer about my considerations. Also that web site is pretty cool has an online test you can take, and a test with a class of water & our salvia to test for possible candida.
Thanks TJ

TJ - my baby is due in July. You can borrow my maternity clothes when I am done with them. Very Happy

Good luck with your massage. I would be interested in hearing how it goes.
